BECOME A HOST HOME
Being a host home family is one of the most rewarding experiences you can offer to a student who is looking for a home away from home. Consider opening your home to one of our college students. Non-local students need a safe, welcoming and community-minded place to live as they experience The Belonging Co College and pursue their SEU degree.
As a member of The Belonging Co church family, you can help us raise up the next generation of leaders.
HOST HOME FAQs
What would be my commitment?
During the host home application you will be asked to consiser a minimum of one academic year and up to four. Some student may choose to stay on during the summer and some may choose to go home.
We suggest a room rate of approximately $350-$400 but it is ultimately between you and the student to agree on final arrangements.
Am I responsible to feed the student?
You are welcome to if its something you feel led to do. Alternatively they can contribute towards meals or you can ask them to buy and prepare their own.
Will I be able to meet/choose the student I host?
We are encouraging the students to reach out to you. Both you and the student should be able to determine if its a good fit.
Are there any liabilities?
The Belonging Co (and College) cannot to be held responsible for damages or liabilities. You will agree that you, or your household may be liable by the student(s) and their families if their welfare is harmed.
Code of Conduct
Host home families will undergo an application process, which must be completed in its entirety. The process includes an interview, a scheduled home visit and background check for anyone over the age 18 who lives in the house.
Please note: The Belonging Co does not accept liability for the student or the host home but merely provides a safe option for student housing.
LOOKING FOR HOUSING
While we do our best to provide some opportunities for housing offered by members of our church, these opporuntities are limited. We also encourage you to take advantage of our private Facebook Group (COVID UPDATE: This is currently closed) to connect with other students and housing opportunities or Nashville’s rental market.
