REMAINING FRUIT

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” - ‭‭John‬ ‭15:5‬ NIV

I love the promise that Jesus gives us in this scripture. He’s giving us the key to living a life full of fruit and it’s simple: remain in him. I believe He’s calling us to be lovers of His word and of His presence, but also remaining steadfast in our relationship with Him throughout every season. In the highs and lows of life, God is constant – He remains the same – so we, as His children, can hold on and remain close to Him. From this nearness is where all the good fruit in our lives flow. It doesn’t stop there though. A few verses later, in verse 8, Jesus says this: “This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” Jesus is imploring us that our relationship with Him and the fruit that comes from it isn’t just for us, it’s for His glory. I want to encourage you today to spend a moment to draw near to Jesus and commit afresh to remain in Him all your days so that you can have a life marked by good fruit that brings Him glory and draws those that see it into a relationship with Him.
