Southeastern University partners with The Belonging Co as a Regional Site on campus, offering students highly competitive and affordable Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degree programs. As part of The Belonging Co, students gain hands on training with world class faculty and staff who are leaders in their field. Whether you want to study to be a worship leader or work on your MBA and enter the marketplace, you will be fully equipped by some of the best in the industry. Students will take courses online and on campus at The Belonging Co College.

Students are able to specialize their degree program through Southeastern University’s Divine Design credit hours. A degree with Southeastern University provides room in the course catalog for students to choose classes outside of their field of study while still gaining credit toward their degree. Associate Degrees

 

AA in General Education

The Associate of Arts (AA) degree is created for students seeking an advanced curriculum without a declared field of study. With an AA degree, students have the necessary knowledge to continue their education with an advanced degree or pursue jobs such as a junior designer, human resources assistant, marketing assistant, or administrative assistant.

Associate of Ministerial Leadership

Southeastern University’s Associate of Ministerial Leadership is an online degree that allows students to develop their knowledge of theology, the Bible, spiritual development, church ministry, leadership principles, and ecclesiastical operations. Students satisfy the credentialing requirements of ordination through the Assemblies of God as part of the program. All courses are transferable into Southeastern’s Bachelor of Science in Ministerial Leadership.

BS in Business & Professional Leadership

The Bachelor of Science in Business and Professional Leadership (BSBPL) degree provides a combination of basic leadership theory and business managerial concepts to enable graduates to advance in their careers. The BSBPL degree emphasizes the application of the soft-skills and the decision-making aspect of business to various professions.

BS in Communication & Mass Media

The Bachelors of Science in Communication & Mass Media is an online degree intended for those seeking careers in journalism, public relations, social media marketing, public relations campaign management, and digital marketing. Students will learn to collect, convey, and edit information through print, documentaries, broadcast and online journalism, public relations, and advertising. This program is a total of 120 credit hours: 56 credit hours of Foundational Core courses, 25 credit hours of communication major core courses, and 24 credit hours of general electives. Students have the opportunity to refine how they communicate with international audiences though communication and photojournalism study abroad programs.

BS in Digital Media & Design

The Bachelor of Science in Digital Media & Design degree provides an overview of creative design and communication, including digital media, research and writing skills, digital design theory and application, marketing analytics, and web design. This degree equips students to lead others and excel as a communicator, designer, and marketer.

BS in General Studies

The BS in General Studies degree is designed to allow students autonomy and choice as to their preferred areas of academic focus. Especially created for students who want a solid foundation in the liberal arts, these programs allow for a student-centered approach to degree completion.

BS in Psychology

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree provides students with fundamentals in psychological and integration principles. Topics of study include personality, development, abnormal psychology, research methods, and more. Students will learn to incorporate their Christian faith into their work and prepare for paraprofessional fields that require a psychology or behavioral science degree.

BS in Ministerial Leadership: Biblical Studies Track

The Bachelor of Science in Ministerial Leadership — Biblical Studies track (BSMLB) provides a broad, robust foundation in theology, the Bible, spiritual development, church ministry, leadership principles, and ecclesiastical operations. The degree also focuses on advanced study, interpretation, and application of the Bible in the context of the local church.

BS in Ministerial Leadership: Christian Ministry Track

The Bachelor of Science in Ministerial Leadership — Christian Ministry track (BSMLM) provides a broad, robust foundation in theology, the Bible, spiritual development, church ministry, leadership principles, and ecclesiastical operations. The degree also focuses on key pastoral competencies: sharing the Christian faith, preaching, church leadership, spiritual formation, and pastoral care.

BS in Ministerial Leadership: Missional Leadership

The partner site Bachelor of Science in Ministerial Leadership – Missional Leadership track degree program prepares students for ministry leadership—in local churches, faith-based non-profit organizations, and other ministry contexts—through an interdisciplinary curriculum of courses in foundational core (i.e., English, psychology, math, science, etc.), Bible, theology, ministry, and ministry practicum. The final 18 hours of the major core focuses global, entrepreneurial, strategic, and innovative missional leadership skills that can be applied in variety of missional contexts (i.e., global non-profit organizations, missionary ministry, local church ministry, etc.).

BS in Ministerial Leadership: Pastoral Care and Counseling Track

The Bachelor of Science in Ministerial Leadership — Pastoral Care and Counseling track (BSMLP) provides a broad, robust foundation in theology, the Bible, spiritual development, church ministry, leadership principles, and ecclesiastical operations. The degree also focuses on an interdisciplinary study in psychology, counseling, and pastoral care.

BS in Ministerial Leadership: Production Track

The Bachelor of Science in Ministerial Leadership: Production Ministry degree program prepares students for ministry leadership—in local churches, faith-based non-profit organizations, and other ministry contexts—through an interdisciplinary curriculum of courses in foundational core (i.e., English, psychology, math, science, etc.), Bible, theology, ministry, and ministry practicum. The degree also focuses on key production ministry skills: utilizing various live production technologies in a church context, utilizing various studio production technologies in a church context, and utilizing other skills related to the production of worship environments in local church contexts.

BS in Ministerial Leadership: Worship Ministries Track

The Bachelor of Science in Ministerial Leadership — Worship Ministries track (BSMLW) provides a broad, robust foundation in theology, the Bible, spiritual development, church ministry, leadership principles, and ecclesiastical operations. The degree also focuses on preparing students to serve as worship pastors through studies in music theory, worship leadership, music composition, sound production, and music performance.

Master's Degrees

 

MA in Biblical Studies

The Southeastern University Master of Arts (Biblical Studies) provides advanced biblical studies, including an advanced biblical language (Greek or Hebrew). The purpose is to provide advanced academic work in biblical studies for teaching, research, or ministry. In that Pentecostals historically have contended that the foundation for ministry is biblical literacy, this degree provides a standard for a Pentecostal institution in the forefront of theological education. This is an avenue for students to pursue a PhD in biblical studies. It is also an appropriate degree to prepare for teaching at the undergraduate level.

Master of Divinity (MDiv)

Southeastern University’s online Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree prepares students for ministry in professional settings and for doctoral education by providing a comprehensive understanding of theological commitments and practices of the church. Students will receive a strong foundation in various theological disciplines from a Pentecostal perspective, interact critically with affirming and opposing theories, and practice and reflect on theological commitments within various ministerial areas.

MA in Family Ministry

The Master of Arts in Family Ministry equips leaders to develop a biblically and theologically grounded family ministry within the local church and/or parachurch organizations. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the unique needs of singles and families in today’s culture, building healthy relationships, family ministry leadership, and ministering to families in difficult situations.

MA Leadership: Entrepreneurship Track

In the Entrepreneurship Track students will be equipped to strike forward in whatever business endeavors they see fit. They’ll have the tools needed to build a business from the ground up, with the capstone project for the degree developing a start-up business plan.

MA Leadership: Organizational Leadership Track

In the Organizational Leadership Track students will be prepared to jump into leadership in the marketplace. They’ll learn how to manage conflict and people and learn how to navigate change in businesses big and small.

MS in Pastoral Care & Counseling

The Master of Science in Pastoral Care and Counseling degree uses theological principles and advanced counseling techniques to promote spiritual, emotional, physical and mental wholeness through Bible-based counseling and pastoral care. This online program consists of 36 credit hours, six of which are practicum courses. Note: Although the completion of this program may provide the credentials for career advancement within students’ church or private sector, it does not lead to state licensure as a clinical professional. Students are responsible for understanding their state’s pastoral counseling rules regarding a dispensation or exemption for clergy or those operating under the umbrella of a cognizable denomination or a church.

MA in Theological Studies

Southeastern University’s Master of Arts (Theological Studies) degree is a 48 credit hour online program that provides a broad understanding of the systematic, historical, biblical, ethical, and practical theologies. Courses also cover how to interact critically with affirming and opposing theories. Graduates will gain sound theological education for church ministry or for teaching at secondary academies or at an undergraduate college level in the field of theological studies.

Degree Accreditation

Southeastern University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. The Belonging Co College is not accredited by SACS Commission on Colleges and the accreditation of Southeastern University does not extend to or include The Belonging Co College or its students. Students must be admitted by Southeastern University and enrolled in university courses to receive the benefits of regional accreditation.
