JUNE 8-12, 2021
“I will allure Israel and bring her into the wilderness, and I will speak tenderly to her.”
– Hosea 2:14
Wilderness Youth Co. Summer Camp 2021
There is much identity formation, soul transformation, and calling confirmation that can come from an encounter with God in the deserted places. For teenagers, time in the wilderness is an ever-increasing necessity–to remove distractions and step away for 5 days to hear from God.
WHO: 7th-12th Graders
WHERE: OCOEE RETREAT CENTER
WHEN: June 8-12
WHAT IS CAMP?
This is a 5 day summer camp jam-packed with next-level activities, opportunities to build lasting friendships, and a lot of powerful moments in God’s presence. Our mornings and evenings will have life-changing meetings with worship, the word, and ministry time. And our days will be packed full of rec and fun activities including lake time, a lazy river and pool, and so much more! For an additional charge of $30, your student will have the opportunity to register for a tubing trip too.
New? Visiting? Been a thousand times? Camp is a great way to truly connect with our youth ministry. Feel free to have a look at Ocoee Retreat Center’s website for more information on some of the activities that are available (keep in mind that we won’t be doing all of them).
Where is camp?
Camp is at Ocoee Retreat Center in Ocoee, TN.
WILL MY TEENAGER BE SAFE?
Your student’s safety is of utmost importance to us! Because of this, our adult to student ratio is extremely low with a minimum of two adults per cabin and many others on campus to assist. Each adult on campus will have secured a background check. Students will be placed in cabins based on their age and gender. Bathroom facilities are gender specific and adults on campus will never shower at the same time as teenagers.
Our team follows more than minimum protocol on CPR certifications, lifeguard certifications and we will have medical staff on site to administer medication or make emergency decisions if needed.
WHAT ABOUT MEALS AND SNACKS?
From dinner on Tuesday to breakfast on Saturday, each meal will be covered by camp! We will ask that you pack a lunch for Tuesday’s ride up to camp. We will offer several snack options as well. If your child chooses to bring any snacks, please be sure they are nut free! If your teenager has any allergies please list them in the appropriate section when registering them so we can be sure to accommodate.
WHO DO I TELL IF MY STUDENT HAS ALLERGIES OR MEDICAL CONDITIONS?
There is a field in the registration form to note any allergies or medical conditions. You can also communicate this with our staff by emailing us at email@example.com
YOUR CAMP ISN’T IN NASHVILLE. HOW WILL MY TEENAGER GET THERE?
Our camp is at Ocoee Retreat Center in Ocoee, TN. We will be taking vans or a bus up to camp! If you desire to bring or pick up your student separately, please let us know. This will not change the price of camp. Upon drop off at the bus, if someone else will be picking up your teenager, please inform camp registration staff. Specific times of leaving and arriving will be sent out closer to camp, but plan on leaving for camp Tuesday morning and arriving back to Nashville around lunch time on Saturday!
ARE CELLPHONES ALLOWED?
Our goal is that your student has an amazing time encountering God and building community with friends. We will allow students to bring their phones, but ask that they leave them behind in the cabin for our services. If the phone becomes an issue, it will be taken away until we return back home.
To contact your teenager, you can connect with them via phone, or call one of our staff members to get a hold of them! Please do note, the reception is not great at Ocoee and a landline phone number will be provided for emergencies.
HOW MUCH WILL CAMP COST? AND CAN I GET MY MONEY BACK IF MY TEENAGER CAN’T GO?
Camp will be $400 for the entire five days with an early bird discount of $350 until March 31st. We do have a refund policy in place. You can get a full refund (excluding fees) if you cancel before May 16th and a half refund (excluding fees) if you were to cancel between May 16th and June 2nd, at which point we will no longer be able to accommodate refunds.
WHAT ARE OUR OPTIONS IF FINANCES ARE AN OBSTACLE?
We never want finances to be a reason for our youth to not come to camp! We have set up a scholarship form that you can fill out here.
CAN I SPONSOR A STUDENT TO GO TO CAMP?
Yes! If you would like to sponsor a student or multiple students, you can donate here.
WHAT SHOULD MY TEENAGER PACK?
We will email a detailed list of what to bring closer to June!
HOW CAN I CONTACT YOU?
Feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions! We will also ensure that you have email and phone number information during the camp week.
We never want finances to be a reason for our youth to not come to camp!
We have set up a scholarship fund where you can give towards students in need.
